French Polynesia Voyage Highlights

  • Visit the picturesque Society Islands and Bora Bora
  • Eat fresh mahi mahi and other local catch
  • Experience Polynesian ocean culture
  • Visit a vanilla plantation and pearl farm
  • Snorkel with sea turtles, rays, and all types of colorful tropical fish

Raiatea

Arrive to the marina in the late afternoon to meet your fellow boat mates and MountainSea crew. With the introduction to the yacht and briefing accomplished shortly after getting settled into your cabin, we’ll get to know each other over a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres then take a short stroll to a local restaurant for dinner.

Tahaa

Known as the ‘Vanilla Island’ due to the ever- present aroma, Taha’a produces most of French Polynesia’s vanilla. It is arguably the best vanilla in the world. We’ll take a tour of a local vanilla plantation and learn how the famous spice is harvested and produced. Remember to pick up a package of beans and extract for cooking at home!

While we’re here, we’ll learn about the precious gem the ocean provides too! Locals on island also produce an incredibly high-quality pearl and are happy to share with visitors the process of implanting and extracting the precious gem.

Bora Bora

It’s hard to do this place justice with words. It looks like every postcard you’ve seen. We’ll enjoy the waters and beaches here for 2 days.

Maupiti

An option only on the days with the best weather due to the crazy small entrance channel, we’re very hopeful to get to share this island with you. Sting rays, manta rays, sea turtles, reef fish, the reef….this place has it all, again in a stunning anchorage.

“Taking our family, including two children, on a yacht for the week was daunting, as we all had very limited experience on large boats. But every detail and every comfort was taken care of by Captain Ted. We were able to learn a tremendous amount, and the way in which Ted worked with our kids was as gentle as it was effective. His demeanor imparted a sense of confidence that allowed our kids to comfortably take on tasks they might not otherwise have tried, from taking the helm to learning to flambé shrimp for dinner. We all came away appreciative that our week had been as relaxing as educational. The unbelievable beauty of the Caribbean was perhaps the least impressive part of our trip, and that is saying a ton about Ted and the trip. Can’t wait to head South again.”
