Day 1 – St Georges, Grenada

We’ll meet at the marina and move on to our home for the week, our sailing yacht. After a briefing regarding the layout of the yacht and how things work, we drop our lines and head around the corner to Grans Anse beach. We’ll drop an anchor here and head to the beach for a sunset rum punch at the bar.

Day 2 – Ile de Ronde and Carriacou

Today we sail about 32NM from Grenada to Carriacou with a nice stop about half way at Ile de Ronde, small, rocky, private island north of Grenada. We’ll have lunch here and snorkel the reef before heading to Sandy Island off Carriacou. Tonight, we stay on a mooring at Sandy Island, a beautiful spit of an island with an epic white beach.

Day 3 – Union and Mayreau

After a nice and easy morning of snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding and a delicious breakfast, we sail to Clifton, Union. Union is known for its classic Caribbean stores, fruit market and is the kite boarding capital of the Windward Islands. We’ll take some time here to walk around town, take a hike and grab some lunch. After lunch, we sail to Salt Whistle Bay, Mayreau. We’ll have dinner ashore tonight.

Day 4 – Tobago Cays: Baradal

This morning we have a short sail to the most beautiful gem of the Caribbean. Uninhabited and marine protected, the Tobago Cays offer opportunities for incredible snorkeling along the reef that surrounds the group of islands, stand up paddle board to the deserted beach where Captain Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann become stranded in the Pirates of the Caribbean. Tonight, we have dinner onboard.

Day 5 – Tobago Cays: Jamesby and Petit Bateau

We have another day here to explore the Tobago Cays, hang a hammock and nap, read a book or visit the turtle sanctuary park. Take some time to enjoy the Caribbean and everything it has to offer. Tonight, we will head ashore for a beach BBQ with local snapper and chicken grilled in the sand. An incredible experience not to miss!

Day 6 – Grenada

Today, we head back to Grenada. After a nice long sail, we’ll pick up a mooring at the Molinere underwater sculpture park. Here you can snorkel amongst statues that sit about 15’ under water. Created by British sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor in 2006, this was the first underwater sculpture park of its kind. We’ll spend a few hours here before heading back to the marina to tie up the boat for the week. Tonight, we have dinner in St. Georges.

Day 7 – Farewell!

Unfortunately, today we must leave our beloved yacht and head off to new adventures. It was a pleasure having you all onboard and we look forward to sailing with you again in the near future!

“Taking our family, including two children, on a yacht for the week was daunting, as we all had very limited experience on large boats. But every detail and every comfort was taken care of by Captain Ted. We were able to learn a tremendous amount, and the way in which Ted worked with our kids was as gentle as it was effective. His demeanor imparted a sense of confidence that allowed our kids to comfortably take on tasks they might not otherwise have tried, from taking the helm to learning to flambé shrimp for dinner. We all came away appreciative that our week had been as relaxing as educational. The unbelievable beauty of the Caribbean was perhaps the least impressive part of our trip, and that is saying a ton about Ted and the trip. Can’t wait to head South again.”
